Dr. Iolie Nicolaidou is a member of the academic staff (Special Teaching Staff) in the Department of Communication and Internet studies at Cyprus University of Technology. She holds a Ph.D. degree in Educational Technology from Concordia University in Canada (2009) and a Master’s degree in Educational Media and Technology from Boston University in the USA (2002), where she studied as a Fulbright scholar. Her research interests lie in the design, implementation and evaluation of new and emerging learning technologies (including web-based learning environments, serious games, apps, and simulations). She has participated in two EU-funded research projects and three research projects funded by the Center for the Study of Learning and Performance (CSLP) in Canada. She has published over 60 papers in international peer-reviewed journals and in proceedings of international scientific conferences.
